Evans Knob Farm

Prancer is a Saanan/Nubian goat.  Both the Saanan and Nubian breeds are known for their milking ability. The Nubians have a slightly higher butterfat content in the milk, while the Saanans are typically long milkers. 

Farmer Kathy likes to keep a couple of dairy goats around on the knob.  We like to make cheese from the goat milk.  It is a simple farm house cheese that we add fresh herbs to.  It is wonderful on salads and crackers. 

Prancer also supples milk for orphan lambs, or lambs that need a supplemental bottle because the mother doesn't have enough milk.
