Work With Us

Evans Knob is looking for individuals who are: bright eyed, bushy-tailed, self-starter, eager-beaver, situationally aware, go-get-em, teachable, positive, non-complaining, grateful, rejoicing, get-'er-done, dependable, faithful, perserverant, take responsibility types. These folks will be considered for our intern positions and will receive a stipend as well as room and board.

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • One day checkout before acceptance
  • Work 6 days a week, off one day, except every third week, which is a 7 day week. Sundays are usually chores only, and Saturdays are typically minimal work as well
  • After 2 weeks an evaluation will be made as to the performance and work ethic of the intern. Anyone not meeting up to expectations or is simply just not happy will be dismissed

  • Room and most board provided and you can eat - within reason - from the Evans Knob larder (no fillet mignon lunches please). You will prepare your own breakfast and lunch. Dinner will be family style with the Evans Knob Family.
  • Rustic cabin includes a full kitchen, bathroom w/shower, and two bedrooms. One for the guys and the other for the gals. Interns will be sharing the cabin with WWOOFER's.
  • Living quarters do not include phone or internet, but wireless can usually be picked up from the main house.

Like any experience, you will get out of it what you put into it. We have attainable benchmarks, but they require effort and sweat equity. Physically, you will be in better shape than you ever thought possible. Emotionally, you will know what you did today, why it was important, and feel good about it.

$100 per week for incidentals. Evans Knob invests heavily in the physical, emotional and mental needs of this opportunity; it's the most education for the money you will ever receive.

You WILL be sore, achy, dead tired and possibly just not feel good for the first week you are here. Once you get into the routine, you'll be more physically fit than you've ever been in your life, but it probably will be fun getting there.

If you want a unique summer experience of learning with some caring folks , and are ready for the challenge, we'd love to hear from you!

About My Experience...

"It is impossible to describe a summer at Evans Knob Farm except to say that it will change your life. The moment you step foot on the farm, you’re a part of it – you’re family. Warning: This means that you may just be harvesting strawberries or weeding the kale if you’re standing still for too long. Kathy and Reid Evans are homesteaders, entrepreneurs, gardeners, problem-solvers, and mentors, and they have a deep-seated love for taking care of the earth and its creatures. They are passionate and hardworking, and the beauty and bounty of their family farm and its harvest are a reflection of their love for their work. To live and labor with the Evans is to learn from them, and I am so thankful to have done so."
